A Brief History
Born on October, 2 1973 in Los Angeles, Michael Goodrich Jr. is the oldest of four sons to Michael Goodrich Sr. and Rossanna Granado. After receiving his first guitar for Christmas 1982, he discovered the Beatles and other music of his parent's generation. In 1988, Mike formally began guitar lessons to learn to play rock music - Van Halen, Slayer, Metallica, and Anthrax were among his favorites. Although the lessons didn't last, the desire to make music remained. The majority of his talent was self taught, through hours and hours of daily practice and rehearsal. He discovered the Ramones' Halfway to Sanity in early 1989, which would fuel his lifelong desire to make music with friends. Bad Religion, Social Distortion, and Suicidal Tendencies staged a lasting place in his musical influences for years to come.
With his first garage bands, The Mamones, Wiggle Worms, and Empire, Mike played guitar and bass, and sang at pep concerts and fundraisers with friends at Filer High School. After graduation, he continued to perform in a local punk band, Aggressional Play-Ground (APG), and in a progressive metal band, Liquid Bliss. Moving to Phoenix in early 1993 with his APG band mates, Mike pursued music as a career playing guitar and singing backing vocals with several bands. In 1994, APG moved to San Diego and eventually became Stagger, featuring Mike on Lead Vocals and Lead/Rhythm guitar. Two CDs, three and a half years, and hundreds of shows later, Stagger parted ways, however, the friendships forged will remain with him for life... Mike's desire to enjoy life brought him to Sun Valley in 2003. Michael loves the close knit community of people in this area, his fellow workers, friends, and band mates - and the feeling is mutual. To quote one of his closest friends, "He's just a great guy. We all love him".
Mike's newest band, Staggering Home, has been playing this area and traveling with their music as often as possible reviving 70s rock, newer hits a la Sublime, and an original flair. Mike also hosts "open mic night" at the Kasino Club in Stanley. In addition to his endeavors in music, Mike has been blessed to work with wonderful people at The Valley Club, The Roosevelt, and most recently Felix's Restaurant. The River Company in Stanley stole his heart two years ago, and remains one of his favorites... An avid surfer, musician and snowboarder. A great friend and brother. A wonderful son, cousin, and uncle.
